Four weeks tonight and we are off on our annual French fishing trip
|
After last years capers, my lad, non angler asked if we could go again, be rude not to
So exectly four weeks tonight we are off on the night drive, new rods and reels bought, bait planned and a kings ransom allocated on further purchases - can't wait
The river will be getting special attention and hope to beat the PB for carp, again

Back to Vic Sur Aisne mate
Non descript little provincial town but full of charm, WW2 history, scandal and most importantly fish
My lad chilled there during the day revising for his A levels, will again for his first year mocks, at night he was out with the site reps on the piss whilst I caught my carp
he said he really enjoyed the tranquilty during the day and wilder nights, asked if we could go again - then in November I fell rather ill, seriously ill, at that point I resolved that if I saw the new year I would be off to France with him again, and by good fortune, we are - happy days

Pleased to hear your in good enough health to go to France with your boy Crassus. I intend to take my boy one day, be a while off yet though he's only 2!
I love a bit of French carp fishing, theirs a group of us that go every year, we always have a minimum of 12 anglers upwards (all mates) & tend to do a different venue every year. Last year we went to a gaff called chateau moulin, absolutely stunning place, surrounded by pine & oak trees. We liked it that much we rebooked again for this June.
The banter to be had around the lake with the walkie talkies is brilliant, big boys camping as we call it. Plenty of beers & good food, catching carp is a bonus!

Crassus sounds relaxing. When you make his sandwiches don't forget to drop some live maggots in, he will remember you for it. Enjoy!

Cheers lads
Time for a word of advice on Sepsis, please do you and yours a favour and read up for five minutes, it kills and is lethally quick once it starts moving, quicker than the average general practice reacts - I was arsehole lucky by about 2 to 3 hours before it was curtains
Remember that if you have any concerns that it maybe that, tell them or go straight to A and E and do likewise, they are on a obligatory fast track to react immediately

No mate Started pissing blood and bits, pissing like a weasel, a thimble full every half hour, considered a urinary inefection, having had a steadily but relatively non dramatic progressive succession of man flu type stuff for a couple of months Then suddenly, as you asked, my bollox grew to inordinate proportion, biggest bollox this side of Somalia, pain was intense, kidneys to lower abdomen, to nuts - with hidious temps and blood pressure They thought it was cancer induced, which it was not, thinking after it may have been a kidney stone bursting But four days on three IV lines 24 hrs a day trying to get me out of septic shock Not something I would recommend
I would though the delights of provincial French cuisine with your lad, a few beers and ripping the arse out of the fishing, which has a remarkably magnetic appeal to milfy types whose offspring think you are some kind of God for out catching their Dads

I don't know, rather partial to a milfy looking substance whilst posing with my spod rod
Not quite so keen on the nut situation, so be aware mate, whole host of tales about the treatment, probing and intended procedures that I was able to delay thank fuck - that chaps wince about in sympathetic sniggers
Worst part, was the first, partial, perky morning, relief at functionality coupled with a pair of poker hot nads
If only it was a cut arm, universal sympathy assured

Crassus, I have great memories of fishing exploits as a kid ended up angling on the lower lake at south Weald getting to 252 ? green bus up from Romford catching the odd double once in a while a good fish beck then Way back when that was my summer passion pre birds.West Ham were my other passion for the rest of the year. Mate of mine from school Chris Woodrow has recently written a book and got it published "one step beyond" it's called. He's fished all over the world it's a good read.Mentioned me and the early days in the book. It's a hobby (probably more of a passion) I'd love to get back into.

It is odd how blokes with a bit of a drive are into fishing before they discover the actual joys of fanny.
Noticed this before.

Picks I was a good young match angler, doubtless means not a lot but relatively something of a star looking yoot within that environment then, fished for a top outfit regionally, could have gone on but found the lure of ready beer and fanny stronger than the 7.00 am draw at a winter league match on a poxy canal in driving rain So traded a handfull of gozers for a handfull of sprats, as it were Few years later returned to the sport in specialist mode, now only fish where it means something or the surroundings are beautiful - I fish for the joy of fishing, the catching is secondary, I use techniques I want to when others are likely to yield greater, a stick off the pin, a rolled meat section, a freelined cheese beast down the slack Never enjoyed it more or caught less
